Often it is a practical exercise to closely examine the development of certain legal issues that arose since the death of Brother Houteff so as to better understand how we have come to the current highly divided state amongst professed believers of the Shepherd’s Rod message. In particular, we want to look at the split that occurred in 1962 between a group of Davidians under the influence of two men H. G. Warden and M. J. Bingham that resulted in the Vista CA Davidian Association and the Bashan Davidian Seventh-day Adventist Association, respectfully. The item of specific interest for this post is the origin and purpose of the “Standing Committee” and what role it had on the scattering of Davidians in the early 1960’s. This study has arisen as a result of propaganda and disinformation that has been recently promoted by Trevor Bingham, the current Porter/President of the Bashan Association, on their Facebook group page.
