Can Bashan Unite All Davidians Worldwide?

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? — Amos 3:3

Ever since 2015 the Bashan Hill Davidian Association under the leadership of Trevor Bingham has been traveling around the world contacting Davidians and hosting meetings with the central theme of calling all Davidians to form a united front so that we can have a more effective witness to reach the Seventh-day Adventist Church with the message of the Shepherd’s Rod. On the surface this may sound like a great idea but it is merely an emotional appeal with no basis in fact. The reality is that this wishful thinking unity proposal will never materialize due to a profound ignorance of what is taught in the original SRod message. This rather naive appeal is doomed to certain failure for a number of reasons as summarized below.

1. There will never be a united front amongst the various factions of Davidians that exist this side of the kingdom according to what is published the the Rod message itself. Please visit a prior post “Are Davidians Looking for Unity But Don’t Know Where to Find It?”  that clearly demonstrates this irrefutable fact.
2. Truth cannot unite with error under any circumstance. Bashan Hill promotes a wide spectrum of heretical doctrines (see summary list below) that are in direct conflict with that which is taught in the original SRod message, the golden bowl. Here is a You Tube video that exposes some of the more egregious errors coming from Bashan Hill.
3. The historical narrative that is used as a basis for Bashan Hill’s argument to be the linage of God’s storehouse/headquarters after the death of Brother Houteff in 1955 up to the present day is full of blatant errors and denies the linage of God’s true storehouses that arose after 1961 and continued to publish the original SRod message, something that Bashan does not, nor has ever done.

In order to prove the last point we have scanned a booklet that was published in 2015 and first circulated amongst Davidians attending the 2015 GC Session in San Antonio, Texas for your individual research. This document was written by Trevor Bingham, the son of Martin J. Bingham and current porter/president of the Bashan Hill Association makes and appeal for unity by presenting an argument that Bashan is the authorized successor of the SRod message after the death on Brother Houteff in 1955. This appeal to authority is based on a severely flawed historical narrative that fails to provide the key factor by which we can identify the linage of God’s storehouses that arose after 1955. And that key is who was the group or Association who preserved the writings of the original SRod message exactly how it was published by the prophet. When you examine the fruits of the Bashan Association under this spotlight you find that they fail miserably and can make no valid claim to be God’s true legitimate storehouse/headquarters today. One thing that becomes clear after examining this document is that the historical narrative afforded to justify Bashan’s position as God’s faithful Association from 1961 up to the present day reveals itself as a effort to rewrite or counterfeit of the proper narrative that was presented in a series of six presentations in 2010 by upa7.org wherein we demonstrated the most logical argument of how God preserved the truth from Genesis to Revelation through a series of successive storehouses. This analysis provides the pattern by which one can detect the true from any number of counterfeit movements that have arisen over time. For anyone interested in the history of God’s storehouse and how the truth was preserved, especially in the era following Brother Houteff’s death, we consider the study of this series of presentations an absolute must for all sincere students of the original SRod message.

Summary of False Teachings that Disqualify Bashan Hill as God’s Storehouse Today.

1. Jacob typology. Bashan teaches that Leah represents their Association. The SRod teaches that Leah represents the Seventh-day Adventist church (1 SR 62).
2. Bashan teaches that Carmel pasture withered with Florence Houteff and now we are in the Bashan pasture. The SRod teaches that Carmel pasture will remain green until the close of probation for the church (1 SR 243; 1 SC 14:6).
3. The living Spirit of Prophecy has to be and living human agent identified as the porter/president. The SRod teaches that the living SOP is a series of published writings from Ellen White and Victor Houteff that lives in the hearts who practice what they teach (ref).
4. Bashan claims to need a porter/president to lead their Association. The SRod teaches that there will be no more prophet/porter/president in the period from 1955 up until the purification.
5. Bashan claims that there will be more than 144,000 saved alive from the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the so-called “non-lineal descendants” or “pure gentiles” in the church. The SRod teaches only 144,000 saved alive from the purification of Ezekiel 9. There is no such teaching about “pure gentiles” in the SDA church.
6. Bashan does not publish any of the original SRod message. They publish a counterfeit or altered version of the SRod literature and a considerable volume of additional uninspired publications created at the hand of M. J. Bingham such as “The Timely Truth Educator”, “Bashan Tidings””, Tracts Nos. 16-19. Series A tract literature, Series B tract literature, “Bashan Commnicator”, “Bashan Symbolic Code”, etc. 

Should Davidians Attend Bashan Unity Meetings?

The answer is no and here is the applicable reference to support this conclusion.

“I was shown the necessity of those who believe that we are having the last message of mercy, being separate from those who are daily imbibing new errors. I saw that neither young nor old should attend their meetings; for it is wrong to thus encourage them while they teach error that is a deadly poison to the soul and teach for doctrines the commandments of men. The influence of such gatherings is not good. If God has delivered us from such darkness and error, we should stand fast in the liberty wherewith He has set us free and rejoice in the truth. God is displeased with us when we go to listen to error, without being obliged to go; for unless He sends us to those meetings where error is forced home to the people by the power of the will, He will not keep us. The angels cease their watchful care over us, and we are left to the buffetings of the enemy, to be darkened and weakened by him and the power of his evil angels; and the light around us becomes contaminated with the darkness.” — Early Writings, p. 124
