“And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” — 1 Corinthians 13:2
One thing that becomes apparent for those who take up the study of the Shepherd’s Rod and are willing to proclaim themselves as “Davidians” is that a knowledge of the message does not always correlate with the character of the individual who makes its proclamation. In fact it becomes apparent that many, if not all, of the divisions that arise between professed groups and individuals is a result each one clinging to a pet theory or doctrine and then getting into a quarrel or debate with another who does not agree with their position. As a result the character displayed during such interactions is far from Christ like. Others who profess to follow the message fail to put into practice the reforms it calls for are seemingly unafraid to be living in direct opposition to the high and exalted principles that will be manifested in God’s soon coming kingdom.
Recently, we have received communications from some concerned brethren who have made note of this sad situation in Davidia and have brought forth the call for a recognition that although we may possess a superior knowledge of the Truth found in the Rod message, this will not qualify us for entrance into God’s soon coming kingdom if our characters are not right with God. We could not agree more. Having a knowledge of the Truth and using this as a club to beat down your opponents is not an excuse for manifesting severe defects in character. All that anyone with take into that kingdom of joy and peace is our character and that character must be that of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus wrought in us by the power of the Holy Spirit moment by moment of each day. If the Holy Spirit does not transform our character and fit us up to be citizens in God’s kingdom right now then we will never enter those gates.
One brother told me that he has been trying to point out to others for years that the Rod message is all about the character we need to develop if we are ever to realize any if its promises, yet it tends to fall on deaf ears. Another brother who is new to the faith has observed similar things in his interactions with various Davidians and has put together a nice study from the Holy Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, and the Shepherd’s Rod to bring these very points out as clear as day. Please click on the link to download a PDF of this study compilation entitled God’s Kingdom versus Satan’s Kingdom and search it earnestly and prayerfully for yourself. May God help us all to be transformed into the perfect likeness of Jesus before it is too late when that cloudy chariot will soon arrive to take the saints to that blessed hope and any of us should miss out when that call goes forth “All aboard”. What a sad reality that would be.

Yes brother the antitypical Elijah the prophet has come and his message found in the SRod is ready and waiting for all to read and understand that which is about to come to pass in the great and dreadful day of the Lord, especially as outlined in the 1950 General Conference Special.
