There continues to be confusion amongst Davidians as to what actually constitutes “the living spirit of prophecy.” This subject has been thoroughly addressed in previous posts on this blog as listed below.

However, the present post will examine this controversy from the perspective of a principle Branch claim that the message must continue onward with a living prophet in the midst. In this case the first false prophet that arose after the death of Brother Houteff was Ben L. Roden who made the claim that he was the Elijah the prophet that would never die. Roden died in 1978 and his counterfeit prophetic mantle passed on to his wife Lois Roden. After she died the Branch has splintered into a multitude of factions each claiming to be following the one they believe is the “living” prophet. Among those alive today who are competing for the title are Doug Mitchell, Denton Brunken, Charles Pace, and Teresa Moore.
The Branch message appeared shortly after the death of Victor Houteff in 1955. Thankfully Brother Houteff gave several warnings in the Rod message that there would arise seekers of the prophetic office and gave us the keys on how to identify them. Notably, there were faithful Davidians who quickly recognized the errors in Roden’s teachings and published studies to expose its bogus claims. Below is a link to a study that was first published in 1960 which irrefutably exposes one the foundational claims of the bogus Branch that there must be another message beyond the Rod that will seal the 144,000. When seen in the light of the Rod, the Branch’s foundation crumbles like a rope made of sand.

Thank you Grumby for bringing this to our attention. We are familiar with Denton Brunken and some of his uninspired claims. He has contacted us in the past trying to peddle his bag of tricks. Although we do not prefer to expose the counterfeits of the original Shepherd’s Rod message, at time out of necessity something needs to be said. We will wait on the Lord for this one. There are many others out their who also are leading the sheep astray. May God help us to stay within the hedge of inspiration and follow only what the Rod publishes, no more, no less.

I would like to know where it’s written anywhere in the Bible, Spirit of Prophecy or the Rod that there will be NO more manifestations of God’s speaking to us.
Read General Conference Special. Elijah is the last prophet for the church prior to Ezekiel 9. After the purification and the 144,000 are sealed there will be more manifestations of God speaking to His people. Study the original SRod message for yourself and stop listening to voices of false prophets such as Ben and Lois Roden, M. J. Bingham and you will be safe from deception.

Yes we agree your father was a false prophet. But that does not disprove the original Shepherd’s Rod message written by V. T. Houteff, God’s true last day prophet. Have you read and studied the original SRod message for yourself dear? Therein you will find the beauty of pure unadulterated truth that will expose the rank impostors of the prophetic office and demonstrate clearly how Jesus is leading His faithful saints today. Yes the Sprit of Prophecy is the present truth which includes the writings of Ellen White and V. T. Houteff. Here is a link to a study from Zech. 4 that proves the case.
